he
route from Lamén to the Colmeda stream up to the Aune Pass goes
along an ancient pre-roman route which led to the mines going through
Zorzoi and the spur of Schenér towards the Rosna valley and the
Primiero area. Above Lamén the Via Claudia Augusta went through
Crocera, where a point of flint was found, go by the Comeda sources
towards Cimamonte through the sheds Camogne and Norcenadego. From
the church of San Pietro the route may go downhill towards the Cismon
vally and uphill to Lamon presumably through Murer and Zorzoi. According
to Alpago Novello, a link to the route passed by Servo, which is
indicated by an aedicule currently used as mountain signpost (Roda).
The route going through Sovramontino has not been examined yet.
It always reveals, however, some interesting discoveries. The route
goes by the church of San Giorgio: a possible sentry post during
the Roman age, downhill towards Sorriva and then towards Cismon
going through the current muletrack "Passerella".

he
Via Claudia may have gone from Ciés to Lamon, towards the church
of San Pietro, presumably built on an antique prehistoric fortified
village, later on transformed into a castle. The road went on from
Lamon to Rugna and then towards the Maggiore Valley through Costa,
where the stretch supported by stone and a cut in the rock is still
visible and under restoration thanks to the local alpini. After
Costa the via led to the church of S. Donato, having Longobard origin
, like the church close to the Zumelle castle. From here the Via
Claudia went downhill towards the Senaiga valley and then through
the Coronini towards the Adige river.
