from Altino to Augusta through the regions Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Tyrol and Bayern. Hence its being considered as the "Venezia-Monaco" highway of the Roman and Medieval Age.
For many centuries the Via Claudia Augusta has represented the main communication way between the Latin and the German culture.
The presence of some historical landmarks along the way increases the value
of this ancient route. Via Claudia Augusta is the name given to the project at
present.
The project aims at promoting this ancient road as a European tourist route presenting environmental and historical values, as well as the reconstruction of the past, the exploitation of remarkable works and the restoration of artistic and architectural heritage.
